It certainly seems that life begins at 40 for Nadine McCabe. Happily married with four children and running a successful business offering RTT to corporate clients, she has it made. But life has not always been so idyllic.

In 2009, Nadine found herself in a marriage that was both physically and mentally abusive. Her husband had serious mental health and addiction issues but, having always been one of life’s fixers, Nadine decided to do what she could to help him. She enrolled on a clinical hypnotherapy degree at Leeds University whilst also remaining the main breadwinner for the family. However, there was no happy ending to her on-off relationship with her husband and when she found herself in hospital with a broken back after a seemingly-deliberate car accident with him at the wheel, she decided to walk away.

Her degree had really sparked her interest in the power of the mind but her ex-husband had shattered her self-confidence. Instead of following her heart into a career in therapy, she stayed in her comfort zone, becoming an operations manager for a production company instead. Although she rose through the ranks, the role took it out of her - it involved long hours and high pressure in a male-dominated industry where she felt she had to deliver more than her colleagues to be considered a contender..
Nadine was made redundant five years into the role but it was the wake-up call she needed. She discovered Marisa and RTT through the personal spiritual development company, MindValley and, intrigued by its outcomes, spent the next six months researching the modality. Nadine spoke to some 50 RTT therapists as well as clients to make sure that it was actually as good as it claimed to be. Each conversation she had further convinced her that it was exactly what she had been looking for to add to her hypnotherapy and life coaching skills, signing up for the training.

On graduating, RTT had given Nadine the confidence to set up her own business and follow her desire to help as many people as possible live their best lives. During this time, she also met and married the love of her life and now father to her two young children.

She first witnessed the power of RTT for herself when her husband was dealing with stress at work. Nadine suggested he tried talk therapy but he found connecting emotionally with anyone other than her a struggle. Having newly-qualified, she gave him an RTT session and it turned his life around.
Seeing these sorts of results on a daily basis makes Nadine appreciated that her difficult journey to get to this point was worth it. Recently she worked with an army veteran who had returned from a war zone shortly before leaving the Forces. He was suffering from survivor’s guilt, struggling with life on civvy street and had split from his girlfriend - he was at rock bottom. Following his RTT session with Nadine, he said that the darkness had been lifted and he was able to smile for the very first time. He soon found an engineering role in renewable energy, something that had long fascinated him, and is about to buy a house with his new girlfriend. His story was such a powerful one that it was used as a case study by a psychology student in his final year thesis whilst at University.

In 2020, Nadine established her already-thriving business, Empower Plan, a corporate wellness membership scheme with RTT at its core.

Commenting on becoming an RTT therapist, Nadine said:
‘RTT is the beating heart of positive mental wellbeing with hypnotherapy and life-coaching great modalities that build on its transformative foundations. It is truly life changing but, there’s more to RTT than that -having trained as therapist, I love being part of the RTT community and the support it offers its therapists together with the opportunities it has given me to realise my dreams’

What is RTT?

RTT is an innovative and critically-acclaimed therapeutic approach drawing upon powerful tools and techniques to offer fast, long lasting results.

Its roots come from within traditional areas of psychotherapy including aspects of Gestalt, Solution Focussed, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy alongside more modern therapeutic techniques such as deep relaxation, mindfulness, and hypnotherapy. It has already helped tens of thousands of people the world over to get their lives back on track and it is being used within the medical profession, schools, multinational corporations as well as by business leaders and athletes.

Its personalised approach works with clients to reframe any negative beliefs, values, habits and emotions - many of which they have carried with them since childhood. Often these have been so deeply buried in their subconscious, clients are unaware of the past issues affecting them. By helping someone to alter the way they think and put an end to negative self-talk, a client can approach life in a positive way impossible prior to the intervention.

RTT allows people to live their very best lives. It helps them to let go of negative self beliefs often stored deep in the subconscious, replacing them with a positive understanding that ‘they are enough’. Our clients are at the heart of everything we do.

How RTT® Has Transformed People’s Lives

“I was told by my doctor that I would need to have my thyroid removed. RTT® helped me to not take on that belief and to heal my body of the autoimmune disease.  My tests results are now showing that I am normal and have achieved remission from Graves disease. Within 4 months, I stopped taking all medication. I have regained energy, positivity, focus, my memory, plus I no longer have pain in my joints and muscles.”

"I started drinking alcohol at the age of 17 and I never really stopped for 30 years. Other therapies just focused on the alcohol but no therapy ever really got to the root cause. RTT® removed an enormous weight off my shoulders. I remember an enormous sense of release. I am no longer walking around depressed and I am free from my medication. I am now 3 years sober thanks to RTT® and it has improved my entire life. Those around me now also know the real me now and they do not need to worry about me."
